Kids and Traffic, the NSW Early Childhood Road Safety Education Program, was first located at the Institute of Early Childhood, Macquarie University, in 1991. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed on February 8, 1995, by the Chief Executive, NSW Roads and Traffic Authority, and the Vice Chancellor, Macquarie University. In July, 2003, the Program partnered with Access Macquarie Limited, a wholly-owned non-profit subsidiary of Macquarie University that works closely with government, industry and communities.
Kids and Traffic is funded by Transport for NSW’s Centre for Road Safety. Our Program is part of the statewide road safety education program, along with the Association of Independent School (AIS), Catholic Schools NSW (CSNSW) and the Department of Education and Communities (DEC).
